I read Erika's book The Science of Success by Koch. It is about Market Based Management. Clearly written by an engineer (a little hard to follow) but very precise and valuable. I highly recommend it.

Get the skis waxed up because the natural warming and cooling cycle is happening and we are now in a cooling trend so bundle up and enjoy the snow. The problem with most websites is they do not use the power of the internet and computing to complete transactions. For example, looking up and ordering parts to repair something. They typically stop short of completing the whole transaction and lead you so far and then say call this dealer to get the full information or part so then you have to go to bed and wake up the next morning and use the old fashioned phone. I will keep blogging even if only one person reads my blogs. This will not deter me. The Diet book is coming along quickly. It looks to have about seven chapters. I am thinking it should have lots of pictures. I like books with lots of pictures. I almost created a whole nother blog instead of a "post" this time. When they started asking me for url I got suspicious. I am trying to learn how to maintain websites in between writing my diet book and of course training for the Silverman. I invite all of you to compete in the silverman. It is so much fun. I must get back to my writing. My fans await.

Here is a new blog. I really don't have anything to say but the kids were over hassling me for not posting any new blogs. Probably hassle me for posting lame blogs. Went to short course nationals in Austin. Would have done better if I had signed up for the 1650 instead of the 1000. The 1650 only had 7 50-54 year olds and the 1000 had 20 something. Perhaps long course meters will be better. Maybe not so many people will go up to oregon at the end of the summer. Maybe I could improve my speed. I have to write my diet book. I have created a number of unique diets. My latest is the starvation diet. The key to the starvation diet is to retrain the mind body response to realize that hunger is actually a positive state to be in and that starvation is the state where you should eat to return to the state of hunger. Silverman 2007

This is the start of the run. People have asked me what is Silverman is it the same as Ironman? Of course not. Ironman is for triathletes who wear skirts. Silverman is a true test of endurance and speed. The Silverman course is much more difficult than the Ironman courses. The distances 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run are the same but the bike leg of Silverman has 8,000 feet of climbing and 1,000 net feet of climb, and the run is on a hilly course too. Ironman is a brand name that is trying to dominate and eliminate independently produced races such as the Silverman. The answers to the global warming quiz were given correctly by Al. While we are fast approaching a temperate peak as it has been about 100,000 years since the last temperate peak give or take 5 thousand years or so. Either way the point is this is a loooong cycle. We have not yet reached the peak temperatures of the last peak nor have we reached the peak CO2 levels of the last peak. who was burning the fossil fuel 100,000 years ago?

Sorry no pictures. My photographer was not prepared and refuses to cooperate so that I could upload all the narly surfing pictures. I have put this picture from the 2006 Silverman. I did try wearing this wetsuit for surfing but it is very slippery and I had to take it off so that I could stay on my board.
